KIELTYKA GLADKOWSKI KG LEGAL TOOK PART IN THE EVENT “NON-FUNGIBLE TOKENS (NFTS) AND THE REGULATORY LANDSCAPE IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE U.S.”

KIELTYKA GLADKOWSKI KG LEGAL took part in a hybrid meeting organized by the New York City Bar Association, devoted to “Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and the Regulatory Landscape in Latin America and the U.S.”

New York City Bar is a voluntary association of professional lawyers and students, founded in 1870. Nowadays, New York City Bar associates 25000 members. KIELTYKA GLADKOWSKI joined the organization and its lawyers are associated as international lawyers.

The event “Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and the Regulatory Landscape in Latin America and the U.S.” discussed the status and tendencies related to Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) – a new form of cryptographic token operating on blockchain architecture. Each token contains unique information. The NFT is an asset that represents various tangible or intangible items such as trading cards, works of art or virtual real estate. Tokens are widely used in the field of art, collectibles, games and music. Despite their growing popularity, they are criticized for volatility (the link to the token may expire), selling works of art under the NFT without the permission of their creators, and the significant amounts of energy required to conduct blockchain transactions, which produces significant amounts of greenhouse gases. The speakers of the event addressed the questions about this phenomenon in USA, Mexico and Argentina in perspective of intellectual property, how lawyers and NFT holders should behave in legal perspective and how will NFT market evolve.
