On November 17th we had a great pleasure to take part in Festival of Innovation and Technology organized under the auspices of Górnośląska Agencja Przedsiębiorczości i Rozwoju Sp. z o.o. (Upper Silesian Agency for Entrepreneurship and Development Ltd. (GAPR)) in a city known as Silesia’s centre of innovation – Gliwice. It was a highly valuable opportunity to encourage new contacts and familiarize with projects being currently implemented and future projects regarding Life Science sector and wide-ranging biotechnology.
In the first part of the event we had a chance to take part in International Fair of innovative Technology, during which various representatives and entrepreneurs were presenting range of offered services and their future projects. It made for us a great opportunity to professional discussion with such companies as : ITAM, IT Quality Ltd, KAMSOFT, WASKO but also with employees of polish Foundation of Cardiac Surgery’s Development named by Prof. Zbigniew Religa acting in cooperation with International Society of Medical Robots, MedSilesia cluster or scientists from University of Science and Technology in Cracow.

Operation of the Garage LifeScience
In the second part of the programme, dr. Piotr Warchoł (also co-founder of Complexity Garage) introduced operation of the Garage. There are three categories of membership:
– regular
– academic
– commercial
The regular membership will gather mostly people unrelated with univerisites, but related with the DIY culture, that would create Open Space projects. To use the Garage they will have to pay a small fee.
The academic membership is free and is designed for scientific circles, researchers, which, from various reasons will not be able to carry out research at the University and also for students participating in competitions.

Information about event (Bio.Hacker.Space)
On the 3rd of November, the official opening of the Garage LifeScience took place in Cracow. Garage was created by Foundation Klaster LifeScience and Garage of Complexity in association with Jagiellonian Center of Innovation. The patronage of the project is the city of Cracow.
Garage? What is it? Bio.Hacker.Space in Cracow
This is the first Bio.Hacker.Space project in Poland. It is the place, where creators and aficionados of Do it yourself (DIY) idea can materialize their ideas, despite the fact of having no resources needed to implement it. The role models for Garage’s founders are similar projects from whole world, especially BioCurious – the first laboratory space, established in 2010.
Development of biotechnology in Cracow
Garage will be a place, where creators from different fields will help one another. And then, maybe this cooperation will provide a new invention. Biotechnology will be the most emphasized field of science in the Garage.

Conference of Polish E-health sector in Pfäffikon (Switzerland)
On 9 November 2016 there was held a conference organized by the Polish-Swiss Chamber of Commerce, Swiss Health Tech Cluster and Schwyz Canton, devoted to the ICT solutions that can be used in medical technology. The patronage over the conference was provided by the Polish Embassy in Bern.

E-Health is a field in the intersection of medical informatics, public health and business, referring to health services and information delivered or enhanced through the Internet and related technologies.
